First Edition Translations are one of the UK’s oldest established translation agencies, operating since 1981, we are a founder member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting.
I live in Cambridge with my wife and son. Besides my passion for travelling, often to Austria, my ancestral home, I can often be found rooting for my favourite football team, Cambridge United, at the Abbey Stadium. I also thoroughly enjoy creative moments in the kitchen and take great pleasure in exploring the many wonderful things Cambridge has to offer.
Director / General Manager
I am from Brazil and moved to the UK because of the weather (yes, really) and the food (no, seriously).
I joined First Edition in 2004 and since 2023 I am the team’s Overlord (actual title: Director / General Manager )
I am passionate about Netflix, reading, writing, travelling, cooking vegan food, and being there for my team and our clients.
When I’m not working, I’m a big sports and music fan with Football and Rock music being my preferences and when I can find the time I like to go travelling too.
After completing a BA in English Studies and a MA in Conference Interpreting in Bulgaria, I relocated to the UK where I joined our parent company Cintra in 2012, looking after a number of our public and private sector translation clients.
As a linguistic and technology geek, I currently handle most of First Edition’s technical and scientific translation projects and explore how translation technology can help us and our clients keep up with the changing times.
In my free time I enjoy travel, reading, films, music, food and a good glass of wine (or ale!).
When I finished my MA in English, German and Art History in 2003, all I wanted to do was move to England.
My path led me to First Edition in 2008, where I now look after most of our German language projects in the Editorial Department, which range from cookery books to children’s titles to art historical publications.
I like getting really involved with my projects and am always interested in tackling challenging linguistic situations. I literally could not live without music, and I love reading, translating, working out, watching films and playing with my little daughter Matilda.
I joined the delightful First Edition team in summer 2023 after previously working at other agencies as an in-house German-to-English translator and later project manager.
I look after commercial clients in a range of industries, primarily medical and pharmaceutical.
I’m based in the bustling city of Edinburgh and enjoy pursuing my hobbies, which include aerial acrobatics, ceramic painting, hiking, and reading – the list goes on!
I am originally from Hungary and I have been living in the UK for much longer than I want to admit.
I joined First Edition during lockdown in 2020 with over 7 years’ experience in the localization industry. I am working on commercial and editorial projects and I love the technical challenges offered by some of the projects.
I’m passionate about dancing, music, nature and animals and also love to spend a lot of time outdoors with my dog as long as it’s not raining. I also do some volunteering for a homeless charity in my spare time and enjoy some studying and reading.
I joined First Edition in May 2023 as a project manager to support the commercial and editorial teams.
I hold an MA in British Literature and Culture and an MA in Applied Linguistics. My adventure with the world of translations started during a student placement. Since then, I worked for various language solution providers gaining valuable experience across public and private sectors.
In my free time, I am an enthusiastic photographer and photo editor. I love playing classical guitar and reading books about psychology and neuroscience. I meditate and practise yoga every morning and I am a number one supporter of my sons’ football and rugby teams, observing their growth with passion.
