After our recent visit to the Bologna Book Fair, our Director Ana Grilo made her way to the next industry get-together on our list, the Museums + Heritage (M+H) show – a flagship event for the cultural sector hosted in the metropolitan city of London.
While at the event, Ana visited the stand of the Association for Cultural Enterprises, marking our first appearance as associate members. The association offers valuable insights into the evolving landscape of cultural commerce and we hope to open new avenues for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Ana also had the opportunity to explore niche and novel facets of cultural commerce, discover lots of technology-driven solutions, and engage with representatives from various organisations, including Oman’s Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. Oman’s impressive showcase highlighted the country’s rich cultural tapestry and innovative approaches to heritage preservation – a timely reminder of the global scope and emotional resonance of cultural storytelling.
All in all, the event served as a strong reminder of the cultural sector being a key candidate for transcreation and where the human touch is crucial to portray the emotional and historical depths of artworks and heritage sites. This is exactly where trusted editorial translation providers such as First Edition Translations can play a pivotal role.
We’ll certainly be returning to the M+H show in the future and are already looking forward to the other upcoming trade fairs on our schedule. We will be exhibiting at the unmissable Frankfurter Buchmesse in October, as well as at the International Council of Museums (ICOM) General Conference this November in Dubai.
