Ana’s tips for a weekend indoors – No. 2

Ana's tips for the weekendAnother week of working from home: CONQUERED! A round of applause to us all! 🙂

My top tips for this weekend are:

Knives Out – Knives Out is a super fun, clever murder mystery movie. It’s just come out as DVD or streaming on Google Play and Amazon Prime. It is honestly, one of the best, funnest, smartest movies I have seen lately. Daniel Craig (of James Bond fame) plays Benoit Blanc, a private detective who investigates the suspicious death of a multimillionaire inside his manor house. If you think you know where the story is going, trust me, you KNOW NOTHING (Jon Snow).

Audible Stories – Audible is the audiobook arm of Amazon, and you typically have to pay a monthly subscription to access their catalogue. NOT ANYMORE (or sort of):  They launched Audible Stories, and for as long as schools are closed, they are offering KIDS AND YOUNG ADULT BOOKS FOR FREE and kids (or adults, I won’t judge. In fact, I will applaud) everywhere can instantly stream an incredible collection of stories, including titles across six different languages. All stories are free to stream on your desktop, laptop, phone or tablet.  They have books by Shannon Hale and Sherwood Smith, two of my faves and highly highly recommended to all ages.

Subscription Boxes – Listen, with the world the way it is right now, who wouldn’t like something nice landing on their doorstep? Have you thought about subscription boxes? The way these work is you pay a monthly fee (from the very affordable £8-10 to more expensive tastes) and then you get a box a month full of surprises and each month the contents change! It is a good present for yourself and your family but also something nice to do for someone else who is lonely and in quarantine. It is also a good way of keeping small businesses going. Here is a list of 18 types of subscription boxes available in the UK: Cratejoy.

I myself subscribe to The Vegan Kind one – Their lifestyle box cost £8 a month and it comes full of nice vegan  treats. Yummy.

Stay safe everyone!
