Ana’s tips for a weekend indoors

Hello everybody,

Ana Grilo

Ana Grilo, Senior Commercial Manager

I hope you are all keeping safe and well and since it’s now time for social distancing, I am going to suggest a couple of stay-at-home activities for the weekend that could be helpful in these times – keeping mental health (and maybe avoid checking the news every hour – mea culpa, mea maxima culpa) is as important as physical health as you know.

So here are some suggestions!

Headspace app: One very useful app to download that is currently free is Headspace. It is an app with meditation and mindfulness exercises. Once you download it, go to the “Explore” bar and you will see they have a “Weathering the Storm” track with a couple of really good exercises including one for “walking at home” and one for “panicking” for those moments when the news become too much.

Netflix: If you have Netflix, there are a couple of really exciting shows landing these days! “The English Game” is a historical drama series about football, created by Julian Fellowes. “Self-Made” is another drama series about the first female self-made millionaire, with the amazing Octavia Spencer!! I hope to binge watch both of them this weekend. I also want to continue my binge of this 50-episode Chinese Fantasy series called “The Untamed” that is both ridiculous and a-ma-zing and I am not sure I should be recommending it but here I am doing just that because it is addictive.

Books: I have been a paid member of for years and yesterday they made their subscription free for a month. You can subscribe and download the app and then read ANY and as many books and listen to ANY and as many audiobooks as you want.

Also, you might not know but I read 2-3 books a week, so if you need any suggestions for thrillers, crimes, YA, children, science fiction and fantasy, please just ask and I will be happy to overwhelm you with recs.

Stay safe!
