The sun is shining (at last!) so, at lunchtime, I trotted off to the bottom of the street to enjoy the day and have a little read of my “generic e-reader”. It occured to me, as I was sitting there actually reading quite a highbrow book all about the trial of Charles I (the latest FE book club tome – oh, we’re very intellectual, you know), that I was hiding behind the high tech version of a brown paper cover. Nobody knew (or probably cared, to be honest) what I was reading.
And I’m sure this has proved to be a huge selling point for certain books – yes, I am talking about THAT book (you know, black and white mixed together in various different quantities…) But then I was worried that people might think I was reading THAT book, when I wasn’t. Hmmm. Maybe I just need to get out more.
Making the point much better than me is The Telegraph’s commuter spy – read here!
