Yesterday, apparently, was ‘No Pants Day’ – and why not? Started 11 years ago by Improv Everywhere in New York City as a small prank with just seven participants, it has grown into an “international celebration of silliness”, with cities across the world now taking part.
The idea is simple: board a train or subway car at separate stops in the middle of winter without wearing any trousers. All other clothes should be suitable for the season – coats, hats, gloves – but no coverings of legs. And no recognition that anything is up. I love it. What a great way to cheer up a dreary January.
